We need your help fundraising for Velindre’s charity bike rides
The Philtronics team are taking part in two charity bike rides for Velindre Cancer Centre, and we need your help to reach our fundraising goal.
Bike Ride 1: Jiffy’s Cancer 50 Challenge
Now in its third year, Jonathan ‘Jiffy’ Davies will be leading his annual 50-mile bike ride to raise funds for Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff.
Jiffy’s Cancer 50 Challenge is a fantastic initiative that sees over 500 riders year on year come together to raise money to help beat cancer. The event has raised over £220,000 to date, and we want to help fundraise even more.
As a Gold Sponsor of this year’s ride, we’re determined to get as many people involved as possible, whether that’s through donations or joining us on our Philtronics team.
Myself, Jeremy, Steve and Antony make up the Philtronics riding team and will cycle the 50-mile route starting at Cardiff City Stadium and finishing at the Lighthouse restaurant in Swansea’s Bracelet Bay.
The event is taking place Sunday 18th August.
Bike Ride 2: Velindre’s Key West Bike Ride 2024
Our second journey is taking us out of Wales and across the pond to the USA.
This gruelling four-day challenge will see us ride from Cocoa Beach to Key West, the southernmost city in the United States, clocking up a grand total of 400 miles. Along the way, we’ll see sandy beaches, tranquil waters and blue skies (and hopefully no alligators!), which will help make the long days a little shorter. It’s your contributions, however, that will give us an extra push.
Myself and Steve will be returning as the Philtronics representatives. We’re passionate about the work of Velindre. We hope our contributions will help them in a small way so they can keep carrying out the fantastic research and treatment they provide to their patients.
The event is taking place from 2nd–8th of November. Make sure you keep an eye out for updates on our Philtronics social channels.
